Inspired by trending colours, we forecast some of the diamond trends for 2019.

As we approach the new year, Diamond Heaven take a look back at some of the jewellery trends of 2018. From Pantone's colour of the year to celebrity engagement rings, we attempt to forecast some of the trends for 2019. Jewellery trends may come and go, but one thing is for sure - diamonds are here to stay.

What is Pantone Colour of the Year?

Originating in 1963, Pantone's Colour System is undeniably the most important colour matching system in the world. Every year, a new colour is chosen which considers all aspects of society. The colour chosen is then set to be hugely influential in the world of fashion, design and brand marketing over the next few months. Throughout the years, the Pantone Colour Institute have shaped colour trends throughout the years- and 2018 was the year of Ultra Violet.

Pantone's 2018 Colour of the Year

2018 saw Patone's 18-38383 Ultra Violet as the colour of the year. Pantone describe it as a provocative purple shade which connotes ingenuity and visionary thinking that points us towards the future. It hints at mysteries of the cosmos and is symbolic of the vast and limitless night sky. Musical icons such as Prince, David Bowie and Jimi Hendrix are believed to have brought shades of Ultra Violet to western pop culture in a unique and interesting way.

Here at Diamond Heaven, we offer high quality classic and vintage jewellery. Why not enquire about buying a fancy violet diamond to stay on trend with Pantone's colour of the year? If you need some inspiration on how to incorporate Ultra Violet into your jewellery wardrobe, our experienced team can help you to create a fresh, modern and stylish image.

2019 Colour of the Year Forecast

You may be wondering what the colour of 2019 is? For the upcoming year, Pantone's chosen colour is 16-1546 Living Coral. This empowering shade contains "golden undertones that energizes and enlivens." Pantone reveals that the mindset for Spring/Summer 2019 reflects their "desire to face the future with empowering colours that provide confidence and spirit and playful expressionism." Here at Diamond Heaven, we predict that our Fancy Yellow Cushion Diamond Cluster Ring, our Ruby & Diamond Cluster Ring or our Oval Pink Sapphire & Diamond Halo Ring will be the rings of 2019.

Iconic Celebrity Jewellery of 2018

Celebrities always influence trends and ring sales. From royalty to popstars, their rings are constantly in the public eye. We will now take a look at some of the most extravagant and trendy engagement rings of 2018.

Emily Ratajkowski

The supermodel and actress revealed her stunning pear-cut diamond and princess cut diamond engagement ring on a thin gold band. This double diamond engagement ring is a classic example of how jewellers can create bespoke pieces tailored to your individuality. This unique design is believed to be worth around £190,000. If you are seeking something a little out of the ordinary, then view our Infinity Pear & Round Diamond Engagement Ring.

Princess Eugenie

On January 22nd, the UK celebrated the royal engagement of Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank. Brooksbank proposed to Eugenie with a stunning oval, pink padparadscha sapphire encrusted with diamonds. This particular gemstone is said to be one of the rarest in the world. Here at Diamond Heaven, we offer a similar Oval Pink Sapphire and Diamond Halo Ring so that you can follow this stunning trend.

Lady Gaga

Not only is Princess Eugenie sporting a pink sapphire engagement ring, but Pop Princess Lady Gaga was also spotted wearing a huge 6-7 carat pink sapphire engagement ring with a diamond halo. After her recent blockbuster success with A Star is Born, we believe that this popstar/actress will be influential in the demand for pink sapphire engagement rings in 2019. It appears that even Lady Gaga drew inspiration from royal trendsetters, with her ring's magnitude and design drawing comparisons to Kate Middleton's famous blue sapphire. View our take on this exquisite design with our Oval Pink Sapphire & Diamond Designer Ring at Diamond Heaven.

Victoria Beckham

Although it may be her 14th engagement ring from David, Victoria Beckham's style never fails to be impeccable. Her ring collection is believed to be worth around £8.9 million. This year, Victoria Beckham was seen wearing a square-cut, yellow diamond engagement ring rumoured to be worth £120,000. If Victoria Beckham is your style icon, why not emulate it at Diamond Heaven? With our experienced jewellers creating custom made looks, you can design a yellow diamond engagement ring fit for any devoted follower of fashion.

Hailey Baldwin

After Justin Bieber's extravagant proposal to Hailey in the Bahamas, it is only fitting that the ring was equally as impressive. The bespoke engagement ring boasts 6-10 carats and is believed to cost around $500,000. The design features a large oval diamond on a gold band. For a ring that equally matches the beauty of Hailey's, check out our Infinity Love Swirl Oval Diamond Engagement Ring.

Ariana Grande

Pete Davidson proposed to Ariana Grande with a huge $94,000 pear-shaped diamond on a silver band encrusted with diamonds. Given Grande's massive following, it was no surprise that this became a trending design. Check out our Pear Diamond Shoulder Set Ring to follow in Grande's footsteps.
