Iconic Jewellery in the Movies

From Breakfast at Tiffany's to Pretty Woman & LOTR, here are some of our favourite pieces of jewellery in the movies!

Breakfast at Tiffany's - Diamond and Pearl Necklace

When Holly Golightly graced our screens in her signature Givenchy Little Black Dress, paired with that beautiful Tiffany & Co pearl and diamond necklace, diamond hair piece and statement sunglasses, we wanted nothing more than to emulate her iconic look. Her jaw dropping necklace and overall look kickstarted a new wave of fashion that defined early 1960's Hollywood. Audrey Hepburn's adaption of Truman Capote's character in his novel ‘Breakfast at Tiffany's' will forever go down in history.

The Pink Panther - The Pink Diamond

The highly sought after Pink Diamond in the 1963 Pink Panther Film and 2006 Pink Panther Film definitely deserves a spot on this list. This pink diamond would make the perfect diamond pendant! Watching both Steve Martin (2006) and Peter Sellers (1963) take the role of  Inspector Jacques Clouseau as they try to figure out the whereabouts of the infamous Pink Diamond with a Pink Panther mark in the middle was highly enjoyable. Fun fact - despite the 1993 TV show version of the Pink Panther being in the 2006 film, it has nothing to do with either film.

Pretty Woman - The Ruby and Diamond Necklace

The unforgettable moment when legal but hurtful business man Edward Lewis hands prostitute Vivian Ward a black velvet box is one of many highlights in Pretty Woman. The gorgeous red Ruby and Diamond necklace was truly enviable. The necklace features 23 pear cut rubies sat in heart cut diamonds, and was designed by French Jeweller Fred Joaillier. This multi-gemstone necklace is worth an estimated £1.04 million, so we can see why Julia Roberts slammed Richard Gere's box shut!

Moulin Rouge - The Diamond Necklace

Satine's elaborate diamond necklace gifted to her by a gentleman suitor is full of beauty and melancholy, especially when Satine realised that the necklace was parabolic of the passionless life she was living. This necklace illustrates everything Baz Luhrmann's Moulin Rouge is renowned for. From the devastating ending that we're still not over to the quirky, audacious aesthetic that's become Luhrmann's signature style. This statement multi-stone diamond necklace was designed by Australian Jeweller Stefano Cantur, and boasts 1,308 diamonds, but are they really Satine's best friend?

Lord of the Rings - The Ring

The One Ring to Rule them all from J.R.R Tolkien's Lord of the Rings deserves a place on this list, because it is a ring that's caused more bloodshed, misery and death than imaginable. This deceitful ring looks like a standard plain gold band, but we later learn that the ring gives invisibility to the wearer, and glows with a combination of Elvish and Black Speech inscription. This bad boy was created by Sauron the Dark Lord as a weapon in his quest to dominate Middle-Earth. We're pretty sure that a normal diamond or gemstone ring would've sufficed, but there's a strong chance Golem wouldn't find it very precious.

The Titanic - Heart of the Ocean

The Heart of the Ocean featured in James Cameron's Titanic will forever go down in history as one of Hollywood's greatest pieces of jewellery. In the film, the blue diamond was believed to have belonged to King Louis XVI, and after the French Revolution it was later shaped into a heart. 84 years after Rose's tragic experience of losing Jack after the ship sunk in the North Atlantic Ocean, her dropping the multi-million dollar diamond pendant back into the ocean was allegorical of her love for both Jack and her life, and how she chose that over money. This stunning pendant has been replicated as a diamond and heart sapphire pendant ever since.

Jurassic World - Gold Bar Pendant

When you think about the 2015 installment of Jurassic World, the last thing that comes to mind is the jewellery in it. However, Bryce Dallas' character Claire rocks a beautiful plain gold bar pendant, adding a sophisticated and modern touch to her iconic auburn bob. Not only did Claire and Owen go against a hybrid dinosaur, but she looks incredible in the process!
